Connie Chamberlain, CEP, CCRP

Connie is native to California’s Central Valley.  She graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and has over 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry.  She currently manages both Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation at Kaweah Delta Health Care District in Visalia, CA.  Connie has always been fascinated by the heart and the body’s amazing ability to heal so Cardiac Rehab is the perfect career for her.  She finds great joy in helping others regain their confidence and zest for life after what is for many a very traumatic event.   Connie loves sports, cooking, and traveling with her husband Nathan.

Molly Wainstock, MS, MPH, CCRP, FCSCR

Molly is an Exercise Physiologist at Glendale Memorial Hospital in the Cardiac Fitness Center. She is a Southern California native who has a passion for helping her patients reach their recovery goals.  Molly has been part of CSCR since 2016, beginning as a Southern California Representative, then moving in the role of Secretary, then President Elect, and now President. Molly obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Applied
Exercise Science from Azusa Pacific University, her Master of Science degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology from University of Wisconsin – River Falls, and her Master of Public Health with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration from Los Angeles Pacific University. She is also a certified personal trainer, certified corrective exercise specialist, a licensed Zumba instructor, and a Fellow of CSCR.  Molly loves being part of the board because she is able to learn from other professionals in the field about what will make her program even better than it already is.  She currently lives in Valley Village, CA with her husband, Mike, her son, Maxwell, and her two cats and dog.


CSCR President-Elect 

Phillip Drouet, MS, CSCS, CEP, CCRP

Phillip is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist from St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, Ca. He obtained his BS in Kinesiology from California State University, San Bernardino and his MS from California State University, Fullerton, with and emphasis in clinical exercise physiology. Phillip published his Masters thesis in The Journal of Exercise Physiology online where he looked at the acute hypotensive effect of upper vs. lower body resistance training exercises in normotensive and pre-hypertensive males. He holds three certifications within the field of Kinesiology, NSCA-CSCS, ACSM-CEP, and AACVPR-CCRP. He loves personal training and also teaches Kinesiology courses at California State University, San Bernardino. Phillip lives in Ontario, Ca with his wife Yvette and they enjoy lifting weights and traveling. He is a Lakers and Packers fan and by default she is too.


CSCR Secretary 

Alex Angeli, MA CCRP

Born and raised near Venice in Italy, Alex completed a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, a Master’s degree in Preventive and Adaptive Exercise, and worked as a personal trainer in his homeland. Upon moving to California with his wife Stephanie, he earned a Master’s degree in Exercise Science at Fresno State with a focus on Clinical Exercise Physiology. Alex started his career in cardiac rehab in 2016 at Saint Agnes Medical Center in Fresno. He quickly appreciated the satisfaction that comes with making positive changes in people with acute and chronic diseases, and the powerful impact these changes have on patients, their families, and the community overall. In May 2018 he became a Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (CCRP) and plans to obtain the Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (RCEP) certification with ACSM in the near future. Alex likes to spend his free time outdoors climbing, biking, hiking or camping with his wife and two dogs. He also enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, and playing his guitar.


CSCR Treasurer 

Jonathan David, MSN, RN, CCRP, NE-BC 

Jonathan is an RN at Stanford Health Care in the inpatient cardiac rehabilitation department of cardiovascular health. He has been serving in this role since 2015, and eversince his passion has been towards targeted behavior change through the science of cardiac rehabilitation. He sees himself as a constant learner each day, promoting early-enrollment and full participation in outpatient cardiac rehabilitation to his patients. Jonathan is a passionate clinical leader and campaigner for evidence-based practice, promoting patient-centered care delivery through practice standards. He has held various clinical and managerial roles for over 28 years in nursing practice and education. His academic qualifications include a Master of Science Degree in Nursing Education, Master of Science in Psychology, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and Bachelor of Science in Psychology and other professional licenses, certifications, and membership to different American Healthcare Associations. He also serves as the Northern California State liaison for the American College of Cardiology.  Jonathan likes to distinguish himself in any environment as a team player, championing critical interventions in achieving the goals collectively. Jonathan looks forward to serving CSCR teams and members, cardiac rehabilitation programs, patients and families. Jonathan lives in San Jose with his wife and three children, two teens, and his toddler, who tries to run the show. 


 

CSCR MAC Liason, Education Chair 

Julie Rounds, MS, CEP, RCEP, CSCS, CCRP

Julie is a Southern California native, growing up in the San Gabriel Valley and relocating to Orange County after graduating from Cal State Fullerton.  She has over 25 years’ experience in Cardiac Rehabilitation, and is a return to the CSCR board, having served on several committees starting in 1995, with her last role as Outcomes Chair until 2004.  In addition to her cardiac rehab work, she has taught Clinical Exercise Physiology at CSUF. She is a volunteer on the AACVPR certification committee, and likes to spend her free time working on her yard and her house.  She resides in Placentia with her daughter, and her mini-Aussie, Bella.

Timothy Kwong, MS 

Tim has been an Exercise Physiologist for 3 years and is currently working in the Cardiac Rehabilitation department at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center. He is originally from Southern California with a passion for helping individuals in need of learning how to make not just their cardiovascular health better but their physical health better as well. He received his BS from Loyola Marymount University where he became a certified athletic trainer and helped athletes with injury prevention and recovery. He later pursued his graduate degree in Exercise Physiology from Baylor University where he learned about cardiac rehabilitation through an internship and immediately knew that was where he wanted to be. Tim likes to spend time cooking, cycling, SCUBA diving once in a while and other water sports. He currently resides in San Diego, California.

Amanda Leone, MS 

Amanda is an Exercise Physiologist at Mission Hospital, Mission Viejo, CA. She received her BS in Exercise Science from Concordia University, CA and her MS in Kinesiology at Cal Baptist University, CA. She is excited to start on the board of directors to learn from her peers and hope to become a mentor as well to incoming professionals into cardiac rehab.  She has a passion in connecting with the patients and helping them make positive lifestyle changes. Amanda does CrossFit, enjoys hiking, running and yoga. Amanda lives in Rancho Cucamonga, CA with her dog, Pancake.

Michael Rosete, MS, CEP 

Michael was born and raised in San Diego, CA. With his educational background from San Diego State University – BS Kinesiology: Emphasis Fitness Specialist and Point Loma Nazarene University – MS in Kinesiology: Emphasis Exercise Science. His work experience includes: 4 years as an EMT at American Medical Response, 3 years as an EP at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in Cardiac / Pulmonary Rehab, and was exposed to Cardiac Rehab through an internship at Scripps La Jolla Hospital. He has always wanted to be an Exercise Physiologist to help people exercise and improve their overall health in a clinical setting. He enjoys playing golf, exercising, snowboarding, watching baseball and football, and spending time with  family and friends. His current goals are to obtain his CSCS and CCRP certifications.
